Obama Talks About Sasha’s Fight For Life

27 Mar

When Sasha Obama was only three months old, she was hospitalized with life-threatening meningitis. Obama brought this up at a White House Internet town-hall meeting on Thursday.

“Very dangerous,” the President said, responding to a health-policy question from a nurse in the audience. “The doctors did a terrific job, but frankly it was the nurses that were there with us when she had to get a spinal tap, and all sorts of things that were just bringing me to tears.”

Because of this experience, and now that Sasha is much better he will always have a soft spot for nurses in his heart.

“I’m biased toward nurses,” he said. “I just like nurses.”

First Photos of Obama in White House

25 Jan

Here is a short photo essay of President Barack Obama’s first 72 hours in the White House… He looks really happy :)

I love how there are a couple shots of him and Michelle standing head to head… so intimate and so sweet. Don’t we all wish we had a man like that? Oh yes!

My favourite photo is of him in the elevator. It was at 2 a.m. after he attended 10 balls in Washington for his inaugural… he must have been dead tired!

Barack Obama Elected President of the United States!!!

5 Nov

Barack Obama has been elected the 44th president of the United States, becoming the first black man to lead the country in history.

I am so proud to say that I can now tell my future children that they can do anything they put their minds to and know inside that what I am telling them is true.

:)

Congratulations to Americans worldwide! You deserve this fresh start.

Obama’s Grandmother Has Passed Away

4 Nov

I send my condolences to Barack and his family after hearing the news that his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, passed away after a battle with cancer today. As recently reported, Barack took a few days off of his campaign last month to spend time with his ill grandmother who he admired deeply.

Obama’s family issued this statement:

She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure.”

This happens just one day before the election comes to an end.
